No database is to be created and thus SQL codes is not needed. We are granted to use php and html codes only.
The site is just full of information. I need search engine to search the site. Let’s say, user types in “a” and the search engine would search the whole site of information for the letter “a” then display the results out. Cannot use a text file also. Strictly php and html codes only.

I am using a small JavaScript that grants me to make a small search engine, but I am adding too many sites for the script to handle and it is causing the site to run somewhat slow. So the question is where can I download and/or learn more about making a search engine like Google, Yahoo, or like Ask.com?
It needs to either be in PHP or HTML and it can have a MySql database, no higher than PHP4 and also for MySql.

what would you use if you wanted to only get part of the search back, not using exact terms for searching using php/mysql search engine???
how do you tell the php script to only search for whatever is part of the search? for instance…
i type in…
“php scripts plus” (excluding the quotes)
i want the php script to grant searching using part of the terms, so if theres a page that only has “scripts” on it, the page would come back positive.
please help
