Question by mast_mast_dil:
Why it is hazardous to list our own site in search engine like “google” if we are using some malacious codes?
if we r using any malacious codes for educational purpose in our own web space or web site then why the search engines will create problems ???? why???

——————————————

Answer by Shrikant
If the search engine crawler/indexer finds that you have spamming/malicious code on your pages then it might blacklist your sight and your site will not be displayed in SERP.

Whether you list/register your sites for search engines or not, at some time your website will get crawled by one of these search engines.

I do not think it is any way dangerous, worst case here is you will not get any hits when people try to search for keywords relevant to your site, using certain search engine that blacklist your site.

Answer by Surger1
You want to look up ADODB objects or something similar. Use the object then to have a recordset object that you can use to run SQL queries against your database something like SELECT * FROM tblProd Where prodID = variable. Would help a lot if you know SQL. After that you can fill the required fields in your website with data from the record set.

Question by FrancisLightHouse:
I am using a small JavaScript that grants me to make a small search engine…..?
I am using a small JavaScript that grants me to make a small search engine, but I am adding too many sites for the script to handle and it is causing the site to run somewhat slow. So the question is where can I download and/or learn more about making a search engine like Google, Yahoo, or like Ask.com?
It needs to either be in PHP or HTML and it can have a MySql database, no higher than PHP4 and also for MySql.

——————————————

Answer by Shane
Do you have ANY IDEA WHAT YOU’RE DOING?????Just do a mysql_query() to find something in the DB. its very very simple….

Answer by nickkk
Search engine uses what are called “bots” they go to each site in the world and take a “snapshot” and store it in there database.
They do this continously. Now when you search for something the search engine just goes into it’s database pulls out the file and there you go.
I’m sorry to state without a lot of money for databases which are about 10,000 and a lot of time on your hands you cannot build one yourself

Question by alco19357:
how do you do “search using part of this search” in a php search engine?
what would you use if you wanted to only get part of the search back, not using exact terms for searching using php/mysql search engine???

how do you tell the php script to only search for whatever is part of the search? for instance…

i type in…

“php scripts plus” (excluding the quotes)

i want the php script to grant searching using part of the terms, so if theres a page that only has “scripts” on it, the page would come back positive.

please help
thanks
