I am building a website for a realtor. It seems that if the domain contains the search words (e.g “homes” and “Denver” and “realtor” to denverrealtor.com or denverhomes.com) it would rank higher in search engines than those with those words only as metatags.

Is this true? What is the ideal way to get high on the list?

metatags are important. Use all affiliated tags possible, homes for sale, homes, denver, real estate, realtor…you get my drift. Secondly….search engines browse your content looking for the same text that is in your meta tags. Make good use of your text. The more you use your tags in your text, the superior the engines like it

3rd. Let the search engines know you are out there, submit your site to as many as you can.

4th Links, Get as many reputable sites to link to you as possible, Link to reputable sites yourself. I can’t stress how important it is that sites you let link to you and that you link to be REPUTABLE.

5th. Keep your content fresh. Update your site weekly

6th. Networking, good old fashioned networking among your peers is still as important as it ever was.

7th. Emails, email your peers and let them know your site is there, traffic plays a role in SEO

A search field and automation button are characterisitic of a database front-end application. This teach applies to non-web type frontends.

In MS Access create 1 Form. Use the Autoform wizard.

Now, in Design-View, you can move labels and fields on the form.

Using the toolbox toolbar: click on the “text control” button; place the mouse cursor over a blank area on the form; click and release the mouse button [this drops a text control on the form]; You now have an value entry field.

Using the toolbox toolbar: choose the “wizard” button (magic wand); click on the “command button” button; place the mouse cursor over a blank area on the form; click and release the mouse button [this drops a command button on the form]; the command button wizard begins; there should be a lookup value/filter field/record search option.

You’re going to have to put the other puzzle pieces together; I am too exhausted to finish. All-in-all, this was a easy approach to your question and should take less then 3 hours to do and adjust.

What promises does a search engine make to not profit from the terms people use to search with?

There is no promise made for not selling terms. As a matter of fact, that is how Google blew up to be so big. They sell key words. The way it works is when you type in a key word such as “cars” companies such as BMW, FORD, MERCEDES pay to be at the top of the list when searches come back. All the items on the right of a google search result page are the paid ads. So yes, people make a profit off of words.

All in a few words, when the entry in my database is “Database entry”, I have to write “Database entry” in the search bar if I want to get the result. How ever, I want to be able to write “Entry database” and get the same result.

The problem is in your MySQL Statement. You need to break up the terms and search for them individually.

// Change:
$ partialStates = $ _POST['partialState'];

$ says = mysql_query(“SELECT * FROM says WHERE name LIKE ‘%$ partialStates%’”);

// To:

$ partialStates = trim($ _POST['partialState']);

$ sql = “SELECT * FROM says WHERE name LIKE “;
$ sql .= “‘%” . ((strpos($ partialStates,’ ‘) !== false)? implode(“%’ AND LIKE ‘%”,explode(‘ ‘,$ partialStates)) : $ partialStates) . “‘%”
