QUESTION ABOUT DOMAINS AND SEARCH ENGINE RANKINGS?

Question about domains and search engine rankings?
I am building a website for a realtor. It seems that if the domain contains the search words (e.g “homes” and “Denver” and “realtor” to denverrealtor.com or denverhomes.com) it would rank higher in search engines than those with those words only as metatags.
Is this true? What is the ideal way to get high on the list?

Does building your links not gradual can have a bad effect to your Search Engine Rankings?
Hi Everyone,
I have a website that ranks well before in Search Engine because Im building links gradually (working the same number of links everyday). However, this days Im currently experiencing being banned or Sandboxed by Google as I cant see any rankings to my keywords now. Question by mek67x:
What happened to my search engine rankings?
I have an auction website: free-auctions.net. When I first set it up it was doing extremely well in the search engines between #2-7 for my keywords. I just recently changed the entire layout of the website and added new services. Ever since I made the changes my rnkings went from #2 down to # 250 for my keywords. I am using the same keywords and have the same text throughout the website. Why do the search engines not like my site anymore? The script is written in perl.

DOES WORDPRESS HURT SEARCH ENGINE RANKINGS?
Oct 12th

A couple of years ago, I started building one of my websites the hard way (writing HTML and easy PHP myself). But as my traffic grew, I decided to give WordPress a try.
The by-hand pages I did have pretty good rankings in Google. (#1 out of millions of search results for several of my key words.) But the wordpress pages do not appear to be doing as well. … Does word press clutter up the code and injured rankings? Or is it just a coincidence that the pages that are doing ideal are the ones I have not moved to wordpress yet?
Thanks j k … I installed the SEO plugin a while ago but have not had time to go back and update all of my pages with it. I will focus on that next time I have time for maintenance type work.
