In IE6 I enter a url which is not valid at the address bar, I get brought to search.live.net instead of google
Google is my default search engine. Works fine with a search at the address bar. My problem is since last night tuesday, whenever I enter(guess) a url in the address bar, instead of doing a search, I am now taken hostage by search.live.com.
I did not install any updates, my anti-spyware is up to date(spybot S&D, ad-aware, firewall, and two on the web searches including Cleaner). Nothing is detected. I have been at this for quite a few years and this is the first time I have Been owned without a trace anywhere to be seen. No hosts files, nothing at the moment. I tried resetting with a few scripts I use for helping ppl out with spyware etc and nothing… It only occurs in the address bar. Wrong address=search.live.com
Help plz?

hmmm weirddd…. try using spyware terminator

it has this feature that of it encounters spyware that is not registered in their database as a threat or if its secure then it will be listed down in another tab (unknown spyware to be exact). it wil give you a bit of information on what program uses it so you might be able to pinpoint the spyware that hijacked your ie…

if you are sort of techy use hijackthis its a more advanced antispyware program but its sorta confusing

i recommend switching to opera or mozilla firefox as your browsers. i personally recommend opera coz its a balance between security and functionality unlike firefox

I recently installed this program called facemoods. On google chrome you had the privilege to type in whatever in the link bar and it’d direct to you to a google search. clear your browsing history and that means each thing. and once that is done go to your tools and edit what a web page is alowed to do on your pc and prevent it from doing it.. knolege of the world wide web options would help you with this question.

Why dont you just delete the content on the home page, replace it with a easy text that states this web site has been moved, with a link to the new site…..keep both sites up for a while until those search engines get your new site cached, probably about a week to a month to get your new page ranked high enough to remove the old site….

Forwarding traffic to the new site will still get you hits on any search engine, the will see visitors to the site, its not necessarily how did they get there…..

The World wide web is a global network of personal and other resources, not something that you can own. If you are asking if your search engine will need an World wide web connection, the answer is yes. You have to be connected to the World wide web to grant other users to access your resource.

first u need an extremely powerful web server – they usually cost around 4000$ if you purchase from dell and about 3000$ IF YOU Get parts from newegg.com and build one – u also have 2 have a web server Operaating System =)
here are some hardwRE PEICES youll prbly need.

Intel Xeon processor – dual or quadcore – about 2.4 ghz
2gb of ram or 4gb for heavy surfing
big hardrive to store all the files you want people to access one terabyte (TB) or500gb SATA or SCSI

connection to the world wide web – DSL, fiberoptic, Broadband, or cable/ sattelite

in the long rune it’ll cost u about 7000 to set it up.
