I own a company that specializes in Marble & Granite Sales and Custom Fabrication. We are the biggest in the Bay Area, Ca and I was wondering how I can promote and advertise the website superior on search engine. For example, I want it to be when someone types in Marble, Granite etc that my company is the first to show up on google. How do I achieve that?

You would need to get some SEO work done on your site to make it search engine friendly and feature the search terms you want to be found for.
The SEO work would involve text links on the site with the correct anchor text, an XML Sitemap and robots file, meta tags, analytics, key phrases researched and placed on the pages, and setting up a blog.
Then you would need an ongoing programme of content writing for your blog and other site pages, submission of articles to article sites, and creation of inbound links from relevant sites, especially other blogs. In this work you would be featuring the search terms you want to be found for.
Your SEO person will be able to supply you with monthly reports which show site traffic and how your site is appearing on the various search engines for your portfolio of search terms. These reports will guide your future online marketing activities.
