HOW CAN I INCORPORATE A SEARCH ENGINE INTO MY WEBSITE?
I am asking this for the millionth time, PLEASE READ.
I just want a basic search box to be incorporated into a logo, exactly like www.waterstones.com, I do not want google and all this crap people keep saying!
I want people to be able to search my OWN website for products.

Easy Killer.
If you want to search your own server, then write a server script that searches them. Call it via Ajax. Receive the results and display them. If you know how data is stored on the server, this should be relatively easy. Just send it back as either XML or JSON.

Well, there are lots of open source search engines. I usually use htdig — you can get it from http://www.htdig.org/ — incidentally Google can search your own site . . . but if you want there are lots of free search engines that should do you right. See the links below.
