DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT “CGI-BIN” AND HOW IT EFFECTS SEARCH ENGINE INDEXING FOR E-COMMERCE SITES?
I am looking to build an e-commerce site and the developers portfolio sites have cgi-bin in the URL. An SEO company told me the site would not be SE friendly because of that.

A URL that ends in cgi-bin indicates a web page that is dynamically generated by software. Search engines often ignore pages like that because they could be indexing content that won’t be there next time.

Use mod_rewrite on Apache servers and ISAPI rewrite on Windows servers to take the search engine unfriendly URLs and rewrite them to friendly URLs.
